Rennes-le-Château and the

Bérenger Saunière Affair

,

This is a site dedicated to exploring the Rennes-le-Château and the Bérenger Saunière Affair. Many books have been written on the subject, many lectures and documents have appeared and caused controversy of the years. I followed the news, read the books, attended talks and met a lot of the authors and have had a chance to ask direct questions of them. had never heard of the Saunière Affair until someone appeared at my door and asked for a psychic reading. This individual was an academic who was very involved with a lot of the authors and researcher who have studied the subject. As I began the reading, I accidentally tuned in on some of the details of the mystery, which fueled my appetite to find out more, and even visit the site. In my humble opinion (and yes- thats the only opinion you’ll be getting here).

Rennes-le-Château

How did a priest who was poor as a church mouse, find himself the funds to build a great villa, a library, renovate a run down church and have cash to splash around seemingly from thin air? Why did his house keeper Marie Denarnaud keep his secret for the rest of her life, taking it to the grave? What has the sleepy little village and church to do with Jacobs Ladder, The Holy Grail, and The Ark of the Covenant? Just what has kept this small villiage in France at the center of a mystery spanning decades or more? Is it all just a good read or is there more to the Saunière Affair that puts it in the center of on of the biggest mysteries this century?

It’s a fascinating mystery, well researched by some, and extremely exploited by others. Many a bad author and fabricator of documents has dined out on it’s fame and the public fascination with the subject for many a year. am not a highly qualified historian, I do not put myself up as expert. What you will find here is an opinion, questions raised and obvious flaws that as an individual with a keen interest who has studied the subject feels to be accurate. You will also perhaps find a slightly different opinion on a few subjects raised previously, as I impart my views and findings as a psychic, possibly putting a new slant on an old theme.Again, I will stress that these are my opinions and findings after my delving deep and you should not take them as gospel (pardon the pun). I also would recommend you do the same with ANY such material you read any where on mysteries of any kind- no matter how eminent or how many letters the person presenting it has after their name, as you will see later in further chapters, I came across many a highly qualified expert on the subject that after a bevy or two would brag about the so far unchallenged inaccurate unproven points they made in their findings has gone unchallenged or noticed.

  • Some Darklore 2 Previews

While people are waiting for their copies of Darklore Volume 2 to arrive, thought Id post a few of my favourite title spreads from the latest release to get you warmed up. Heres what we came up with for Blair MacKenzie Blakes article “DMT and Magick”: The image accompanying the title is a favourite of mine, by our good friend and Sub Rosa illustrator Adam Scott Miller, and I thought the warped font for DMT was suitable. Next up is Paul Devereuxs essay titled “Witches Brews”, on the little known history of psychedelic use in European medieval witchcraft. The image is a public domain image I came across which perfectly summed up the article: Lastly, Theo Paijmans contributed a fascinating article to Volume 2, featuring new research he has done into UFO reports from newspapers of the 19th century. “The Dark Cohorts” is a brilliant Fortean read, and it gave me a real dark steampunk vibe, so I asked Darklore designer Mark James Foster to come up with something along those lines. His graphic works perfectly I think: Once again, heres the purchasing information for Darklore Volume 2 the limited edition hardcover is selling fast, so if youre interested Id jump in relatively quickly:Limited Edition Hardcover United StatesLimited Edition Hardcover United KingdomPaperback United StatesPaperback United Kingdom So cool to see Darklore almost cracking into the Amazon Top 1000 thanks to all those who are supporting our independent publishing efforts!

  • The Flying Saucers Are…Not Welcome In Florida!

A storm in a teacup saucer last week after highprofile ufologist Stanton Friedman gave a talk at The Brogan Museum in Florida to accompany their exhibit about Roswell. Dr Paul Cottle of Florida State University got himself in a tizzy and wrote a letter of complaint about the museums invitation to a “wellknown charlatan” really, his description of Friedman discussing “UFO pseudoscience”. Billy Cox of the always interesting newspaper column DeVoid explains how it all unfolded. Perhaps most notably, he quotes a wonderfully common sense reply to Cottle from Museum executive director Chucha Barber: UFOs and dinosaurs attract people of all ages to, we hope, seek truth, learn more and perhaps be entertained while inspired. However, that only served to stoke the fires, with Dr. Gregory Boebinger, director of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee joining the fray: Is the Brogan planning to host future exhibits on palm reading and astrology? Surely when a science museum hosts oftendebunked pseudoscience, it is not only using a variety of entertaining experiences to attract audiences to science, as Ms. Barber contends, but also insidiously endorsing pseudoscience and attracting our children and the public away from science. Mmmm, the skeptics and their “insidious pseudoscience” such paranoia! Anyhow, the rest of Billy Coxs opinion piece is well worth a read, so check it out. Further reading on the matter can be found at Frank Warrens blog and also at A Different Perspective Kevin Randles blog. Like Randle, I dont necessarily agree with everything Stanton Friedman claims, but “I do have something against those who express uninformed opinions”.
